Chloramine is an increasingly popular disinfection chemical used by cities.  Conventional carbon filters will remove chlorine, but they are unable to remove chloramine.  The Pentek ChlorPlus 20 will remove both chloramine and chlorine making it a great filter for city water purification.  Both chlorine and chloramine are undesirable in drinking water.  They will impart bad taste/odor to the water and there is increasing evidence that consuming these chemicals may be detrimental to your health.
