The waterwise 9000 water distiller uses a process called steam distillation (or just "distillation"). Steam distillation is one of the oldest but most effective ways to remove contaminants from drinking water. Distilled water is water that has been boiled and then condensed. The transformation of the water from liquid to steam and then back to liquid is the same way that nature purifies water in our ecosystems. This process removes virtually all pollutants in the water leaving nothing but pure, delicious water. Some of the pollutants removed by the Waterwise 9000 distiller include: arsenic, chlorine, herbicides, lead, mercury, sodium, and all living organisms such as bacteria, viruses, and cysts.

Waterwise 9000 Water Distiller Process:

1. Ordinary tap water is heated to 212 degrees F (100 degrees C) killing microbes such as bacteria, cysts, and viruses
2. Steam rises leaving behind dead microbes, dissolved solids, salts, heavy metals and other substances
3. Low boiling light gases are discharged through the distiller's gaseous vent
4. Steam is condensed in the stainless steel coil
5. Purified water then percolates through the organic coconut shell carbon filter removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
6. The steam distilled water is collected in the integrated polycarbonate collector/storage bottle (included)
