This extends the lifespan of the membrane and ensures both a high amount and quality of purified water.
All reverse osmosis systems use two types of pre-filters: activated carbon and sediment filters. Sediment filters screen out particulate matter (both visible and invisible). This protects the carbon filter and reverse osmosis membrane that follows. Carbon filters remove chlorine and other chemicals that can damage the reverse osmosis membrane.
