This double duty 20" water filter housing kit for whole homes will accomodate all 20" standard diameter cartridges or two 10" cartridges using a coupler. The sump on this whole house filter housing is clear. Kit comes complete with mounting hardware and filter wrench.
Product Description
Using a water filter housing with a water filter cartridge is the most common way to purify the water for a whole home or building. This product ships complete with a clear water filter housing, filter wrench, and all the mounting hardware required for an easy and straightforward installation. This housing will accommodate virtually all standard diameter 20" long filter cartridges.
Common applications for this product are sediment and activated carbon filtration for homes or cottages, when used with the properly selected cartridge. This product features 3/4" female threaded inlet and outlet plumbing connections. Since many home water mains are plumbed with 3/4" copper, this makes it an ideal choice for whole home applications. Flow rate through this housing is dictated by the filter cartridge that is selected with a maximum flow rate of about 10 gallons per minute.
Common uses for Whole House Water Filter Housings
- used with a 5-micron sediment filter to remove suspended solids from well water
- used witha 20-micron sediment filter to remove suspended solids from lake water
- used with an activated carbon filter to improve drinking water taste/odor/color
- used as a pre-filter with an ultraviolet water purifier
- used with an absolute 0.5 or 1-micron cartridge for cyst removal
