UV Pure systems use ultraviolet light to disinfect drinking water. UV pure systems are offered in a variety of flow capacities and with different feature sets. All UV pure systems offer a very high UV dose and will accomplish disinfection in a multitude of environments.
Prices & Information: UV Pure Systems
UV pure systems utilize a unique design that differs from conventional UV systems. In conventional UV systems a UV lamp that is encased in a quartz sleeve is inserted into a steel UV chamber. Water is then passed around the UV lamp to achieve disinfection. With UV pure systems, the water is passed through the inside of a quartz tube. UV pure systems bathe the water inside the quartz tube from either side with a UV lamp in air. UV pure calls this system the "crossfire".
Another unique feature of UV pure systems is the inclusion of a mechanical wiping device. All UV pure systems are equipped with a steel wiper that continuously scrapes the inside of the quartz tube using a spring steel blade. This wiping motion keeps the quartz sleeve of the UV pure system free of hard water and/or iron deposits that can interfere with the proper functioning of the UV system.
For this reason, UV pure systems are often chosen when water conditions would normally require that a UV system be preceded by a water softener. UV pure systems fall into two different product categories.
UV Pure Hallett Systems
The UV Pure Hallett Systems are the NSF certified product line offered by UV Pure. Each system utilizes the UV Pure Crossfire technology to achieve a high level of disinfection. All UV Pure Hallett Systems come equipped with a solenoid shutoff valve. The Hallett unit is offered in two flow capacities. The Hallett 15xs will handle flows up to 15 gallons per minute and the Hallett 30 will handle 30 gallons per minute. Both UV Pure Hallett Systems are NSF certified.
UV Pure Upstream Systems
The UV PUre Upstream Systems offer many of the same features and benefits of the Hallett systems but do not offer NSF certification. UV Pure Upstream systems are sized based on water quality (UVT) and the desired flow rate with systems available for 10, 15, and 30 gallons per minute. UV Pure Upstream systems do not come standard with a solenoid shutoff valve however an upgrade is available.
