UV Pure ultraviolet purification systems include the Hallett, Upstream, and Cactus brands. UV Pure systems differ from conventional UV systems in that the water passes through a quartz sleeve and two UV lamps in air provide disinfection of the water. Since many UV Pure systems include an automatic cleaning system, UV Pure systems are often used where water is very hard and a water softener is not desirable.
- Monitored Systems: Monitored UV systems use a UV sensor to measure the real-time UV dose being delivered to the water. If the dose falls below the disinfection threshold, an audible and visual alarm is triggered
