UV Pure ultraviolet purification systems include the Hallett, Upstream, and Cactus brands. UV Pure systems differ from conventional UV systems in that the water passes through a quartz sleeve and two UV lamps in air provide disinfection of the water. Since many UV Pure systems include an automatic cleaning system, UV Pure systems are often used where water is very hard and a water softener is not desirable.
- NSF Certified: NSF Certified UV systems have passed the NSF Standard 55 Class A test protocol. These UV systems deliver a very high level of UV protection and must provide an audible/visual alarm if the UV dose drops
