Fleck 7000 SXT Metered Water Softener - 96,000 Grain
HIGH FLOW & HIGH EFFICIENCY! This aQuatell Fleck 7000SXT water softener features the extremely sophisticated and high-flow Fleck 7000SXT valve. The 7000SXT is a metered softener that features a "variable reserve" capacity - the softener measures and records your water use over time, and is then able to predict the optimum regeneration timing. This translates to tremendous salt and water savings. Programming is intuitive and flexible with the push button LCD display. The Fleck 7000SXT valve is a true 1" internally ported valve. This means high flow rates with little pressure loss. Capacity is rated at 96,000 grains - use our water softener sizing system to see if it's the right-sized system for you.

More About the Fleck 7000 SXT Metered Water Softener - 96,000 Grain
Get ready for whiter laundry, less detergent use, softer hair and skin, and completely and permanently remove unsightly scale buildup from the shower, appliances, the bathtub, and everywhere else water is used.
This aQuatell water softener features the Fleck 7000SXT valve. The Fleck 7000SXT is a high flow, high performance valve that is capable of flow rates up to 35 gallons per minute and is capable of controller softeners up to 10 cubic feet in capacity. In standard residential applications this flow rate will never be encountered, but the valve does offer a small advantage over other residential valves in the very low pressure loss encountered through the valve.
In the Fleck 7000SXT Pentair has eliminated the microswitch controls used for measuring valve location in other product lines. Instead, the Fleck 7000SXT employs a more reliable and durable optical sensor that "sees" the valve location for precise and robust valve control.
Save valuable installation time and hassle with the unique clip system utilized by the the Fleck 7000SXT valve. The bypass, plumbing adapters, and other critical components can be added and removed by simply removing durable plastic clips - no screws to fiddle with and no special tools required.
A battery backup systems keep all softener settings and stored data safe in the even of a power outage.
This softener is a "metered" system - meaning that the valve is able to measure the amount of water you use, and will only initiate a regeneration when the softener is nearly exhausted. While there are many water softener control valves that offer this, the Fleck 7000SXT utilizes a sophisticated "variable reserve" technique to very accurately predict when regeneration should occur. This is accomplished by measuring and recording water consumption over a period of weeks. Once a water use database is established, the control valve can predict water consumption and can make a very informed decision on optimum regeneration date. If your water use pattern changes over time, this is reflected in the water use database and the regeneration timing is adjusted accordingly. This all translates to minimizing salt and water consumption.
Every water softener ships with a brine tank (the "salt" tank) and includes a safety float. Although it's very rare, if your softener tried to add too much water to the brine tank during regeneration, the safety float would stop the water flow and would prevent any water spillage. We include a bypass valve with all softeners and your choice of plumbing adapters. The bypass valve does just what it says - it allows a user to bypass the softener with the turn of two dials or a lever. Once in bypass mode the water softener can be uncoupled from the plumbing without interrupting water flow to your home.

How a Water Softener Works
Calcium and Magnesium compounds make water hard. The resin used inside the Fleck 7000SXT water softener is attracted to both calcium and magnesium containing compounds. When calcium or magnesium contact a bead of water softener resin, it adheres to the resin and is trapped. In exchange for trapping the hardness compound, the resin releases a sodium particle. Eventually the resin becomes saturated with hardness particles. At this point the water softener rinses the resin with very salty water called brine. The resin releases the hardness particles which are flushed to the drain and are recharged with sodium from the brine. The resin is now ready to trap more calcium and magnesium.
