Acid Neutralizing Water Filter System

The aQuatell Acid Neutralizing System is a filter that will raise the pH of your acid water.  This system uses a highly effective mixture of a calcium based media (calcite) and a magnesium based media (Corosex) to neutralize low pH and to bring the pH of the water to 7 or above.  The aQuatell system utilizes the state of the art Autotrol Performa valve equipped with a mixing valve attachment.  The mixing valve allows the user to bypass a small amount of untreated water.  By varying the amount of untreated water that can bypass the system, the user can fine tune the resulting pH.  Without the mixing valve, it is very easy to over-correct and end up with a pH that is too high.  To make this fine-tuning easier, we have included a pH test kit with this system.

The process of acid neutralization will dissolve the calcite and corosex media over time.  For this reason, the aQuatell Acid Neutralizing System comes with an extra bag of both medias.  About once per year the user will unscrew the control valve and top up the system to ensure optimum performance.

The Problem with Acid Water

Acid water (water with a pH below 7) can cause many problems in a home.  Acid water conditions will slowly dissolve metal water pipes often creating brittle pipes and pinhole leaks.  The metal that has been dissolved is then deposited on tubs, toilets, sinks, etc.  Where copper piping is used the deposits are a very obvious and unsightly blue/green color that is very difficult to fully remove.  Homeowners with acid water conditions will often complain of metallic tasting water.  This is due to the high metal content from the metal dissolving action of the acidic water.  The aQuatell Acid Neutralizing system will easily and effectively correct all of these acid water problems.
