The UV lamp generates the germicidal light that inactivates bacteria, viruses, and cysts, while the quartz sleeve keeps the lamp dry and properly aligned inside the UV chamber. Working together, they provide safe, chemical-free protection for your drinking water.
Over time, UV lamps naturally lose their intensity, and quartz sleeves can accumulate scale or iron deposits that reduce UV transmission. To keep your system performing at its best, replace your UV lamp every 12 months and clean or replace the quartz sleeve as needed. If the quartz sleeve remains undamaged, it is typically recommended to replace it every two years.
