Autotrol water softeners are made by General Electric (GE) Water & Process Technologies group. The Autotrol water softener line includes time-clock and demand-regenerated systems. For time-clock systems we offer the Autotrol 255/742 valve + controller combination. For demand generated softeners we offer the Autotrol 255/760 combination. These valves are renowned for great performance and longevity. Water Softeners with Autotrol 255/760 Valve
This line of aQuatell water softeners features the Autotrol 255 valve. This valve is the workhorse of the Autotrol line. Internal 3/4" porting provides adequate flow for the vast majority of residential applications. The 760 Logix controller is extremely easy to program and offers three different salt dose settings. These water softeners are metered - regeneration occurs automatically based on the amount of water that has been used.

Water Softeners with Autotrol Performa 268 Valve + 762 Logix Controller
This line of aQuatell water softeners features the high performance Autotrol 268 Performa valve. This valve features full 1" internal porting for superior flow rate. The 762 Logix controller offers unparalleled programming ease and flexibility. These water softeners are metered - regeneration occurs automatically based on the amount of water that has been used.

Water Softeners with Autotrol 255 Time Clock Valve
This line of aQuatell water softeners features the Autotrol 255 valve. This valve offers 3/4" internal porting to supply adequate water flow for the vast majority of residential applications. This softener is equipped with a time clock controller - regeneration happens at a preset time and is not dependant on measured water consumption. While once popular, the time clock softener has all but been replaced with the much more efficient metered regeneration units as seen above on this page.
