  • Clack Water Softener Stepped Regeneration

There are multiple different Clack Water Softener scenarios where it can be very useful to walk the softener through an abbreviated regeneration sequence:

    1. For a new installation and you want to make sure that none of your connections leak.
    2. You're trying to clear an error code and you want to walk through all the stages of the regeneration to see if the code returns.
    3. You want to run only one stage of the regeneration sequence, and skip all the others.

The Clack controller allows the user to skip through the multiple different regeneration stages once a regeneration has been commenced. Here's how to do it:

    Manually Start the Regeneration

Press and hold the REGEN button for about 4 seconds. Release the button when you hear the motor engage:

You'll know the regeneration has begun when you see a countdown timer on the screen, and the time is counting down. At this point, you can press (but don't hold) the REGEN button to skip to the next stage. This can be done every time you see a countdown at each new stage. The top left area of the controller display will tell you which regeneration stage you're currently in.
At any time, you can leave the softener in its current stage and allow it to fully or partially complete from that point on. This can be useful for a number of different scenarios:
    • doing an extra backwash
    • observing the flow through the drain line
    • seeing if the brine tank is draining properly
    • filling the brine tank (instead of manually adding water to it)
